My Comments On Claire's Blog On Bullying

I completely agree with you that bullying is bad behaviour. Its horrifying to hear about young teenagers who commit suicide, because the bullying has got too much to bear. It's disgusting that you can cause someone so much pain, for a few kicks and laughs. I'm lucky to not have gone through that, but I know that there are many who do, so something really needs to be done to help them. I intend to become a teacher, and I know that if I come across bullying, then I will take serious action against it as a lesson to others. I don't think that teachers do enough to stop it as they don't seem to want the hassle of dealing with it. Most of them are scared of the pupils!! I think if such a small action can save the life of another, then shame on us for not wanting the 'hassle'.

Lying With Integrity

Although we've always been told to tell the truth, I can honestly say I don't. I can see how honesty is really the best policy, but I don't think that there is anything wrong with telling small white lies, especially if it saves you from upsetting someone or offending them. If we always told the truth it might even get us into serious trouble, if for example your a racist or a sexist. We also lie to save ourselves from embarrassment, as if we don't have the latest game or fashion accessory we might be looked down at. Serious matters like infidelity or crimes should be admitted, but otherwise, if you can get away with it.......

My Comments On Lynsey's Blog On Bean Being Bad

I don't think that Beans is being completely bad, because that would mean every child is bad.... I'm sure we all do things that our parents don't know about, whether that is a small white lie or maybe something bigger like being a regular smoker. It’s understandable to not want to let your parents down, or to not want them to think badly of you. The fact that she hides it means she knows that she's doing something bad, and that means she’s one step closer to fixing it! It’s the whole concept of what you don't know can't hurt you, but maybe that’s what bad people say to justify their actions......

Bandits

These outlaws of society and destroyers of peace, which are also called bandits and villains, are the reason why heroes exist. However, they seem to lead a much more glamorous lifestyle in movies compared to real life. Bandits are dangerous and terrifying people and are definitely bad beings in my opinion. They cause a lot of trouble and distress for innocent civilians, and can end up scaring victims for life.

My Comments On Hari's Blog On Shoplifting

I totally agree with you. Most times shoplifting is done just for fun of it, which makes it all that much more worse. If your a small child then at least you can be excused as you may not know, but if your a grown child or an adult, then you have no excuse. I think punishment for recurring offenders should be more severe. At least they will have to face the consequences of their actions, instead of just getting away with it.

Nasty Comedians

Comedians are meant to make us laugh, but sometimes they can get offensive by being sexist, or by criticising other religions, cultures or ways of living. I think this kind of comedy needs to be done carefully and in proportion, or it can create a great deal of fuss over something you thought would be interpreted as a joke. Sacha Baron Cohen (opposite left), caused a lot of controversy with his comedy, as to some he overstepped the line. Overall it's probably best to steer clear of these kinds of jokes, as even if their innocently done, if they go wrong, they could cost you a lot more than what they were worth.

Tattoos

Tattoos seem like a harmless expression of art,but is a permanent body modification quite an extreme way of doing that? The picture opposite is of a gang member and in my opinion very extreme. The largest tattoo size that I would have would be the size of my palm and (considering I have small hands) that's not too big. I think that a proportion of individuals use tattoos because they want to create a certain image of themselves, whether that's being part of a gang or a culture. I don't think having a tattoo is necessarily being bad, its just not part of society's norms so seems threatening to some. Many people have several small tattoos and aren't looked at differently than someone without tattoos, so I think as long as you don't go over the top its not such a big deal.

Bad Cinema

Initially after watching this movie, I was pretty speechless. It was quite realistic and broke all the boundaries of a 'typical' film- not what I was expecting at all. Considering this film was made 13 years ago, it makes me wonder how much worse children have got now. Its quite a scary thought how advanced younger generations are, and the film acknowledges that we need to make things change, as all actions have consequences, just like the kids in the film realised.

Being Too Religious

I wouldnt say that I follow my religion really strictly but I do completely believe in God, and think its important to have something to believe in and worship. Some individuals are quite extreme in their views and I disprove of those who try and force their religion on others, as I think that faith comes from inside. Even if you are an atheist, as long as you dont want to change everyones views to match yours then thats not a problem. I dont agree with those that try to change others or influence their views using religion as their excuse.

Masturbation

Hmmmmmmmmm, masturbation is one of those taboo topics which is rarely discussed out loud. Personally I've avoided to think about it in too much detail but i guess what stays private is not really being bad. Masturbation is quite common but as long as it doesnt become the basis of every conversation I have im not against it. What people do in the privacy of their own homes is no ones business but theirs.

Smoking

When the smoking ban came into action I was overjoyed to not smell of cigarettes every time i went into a club/pub. It was even better to not be a victim of passive smoking, but i'll be the first to admit that fags were not all that bad. I mean nowadays the smell of urine and body odour could kill someone a lot quicker than fags if you know what I mean. So although on one hand its nice to not limit where smokers can go, on the other hand its limited the places where I, as a non-smoker want to go.

Infidelity

Infidelity has become more common over recent years but i believe that it is a serious problem and that it is the ultimate deception. Its true that until your in the situation its difficult to understand the exact reasons why it happens but keeping out of that situation is the real achievement. The common reason is that your in a failing relationship or simply because your bored, but i believe that it would cause a lot less heartache if you broke your relationship off instead of demolishing it with infidelity.
